Buying and Selling cattle When you buy cattle you will need to enter the information on the front page of the animal's passport. They will be used each time you update your Movement Book, Herd Register and Medicine Book. Those details are also very valuable when compiling Extensification reports. CattleController works in the same way you do - in Batches. You buy cattle by the lorry load and enter them on the computer in a Batch. Selling cattle is similar, except you don't have to enter any ear numbers. Simply tick off the cattle you want to sell from an onscreen list. Once you have entered all the cattle into a Batch, you will be shown a confirmation screen and given the option of printing the list for your files. Then you click Record and all your records will be automatically updated. If you want to report the movements to the BCMS electronically, a click of the mouse will do that for you too and you won't need to mail the movement cards.
