Extensification Scheme
made simple.

Keeping your stocking density right throughout the year takes a lot of care, especially if you are on the Standard Scheme with its 6 check dates.

CattleController helps you keep your stocking density under control in many ways:

  1. The Summary screen of CattleController that you return to every time you buy or sell cattle shows an up-to-date breakdown of your herd and livestock units. Any sheep are combined and then your farm stocking density is calculated using the Forage Area you entered in the account set up.

  2. The Snapshot Report lets you view your herd as it was on any date you chose. The age of all the cattle you had on your farm that day is calculated automatically for the date you chose. If you enter a date in the future, CattleController calculates the age that the cattle held on your farm today will be on that date.

  3. Because stocking density is so closely dependent on each animal's age, it changes all the time - even if you don't buy or sell any cattle. CattleController's Extensification Projector calculates your stocking density at each of the MAFF Check Dates issued so far and then predicts your stocking density based on the cattle currently on your farm for the rest of the year. Then it calculates your annual average.

  4. The Extensification Declaration report calculates the livestock units on your farm for each of the check dates issued this year.

These tools will keep you informed of your stocking density without doing any calculations and make sure you don't get any nasty surprises like 50 calves reaching 6 months old and increasing your livestock unit count by 30lsu.
